Herd/Breeding Philosophy & Goals

Although we only began our herd in 2021 and started performance programs in 2024, I have fallen head over hills for these wonderful creatures and I can't picture myself ever being without them! I have big long-term goals for our herd. As someone who enjoys making art, I see breeding a beautiful dairy goat as a living form of art. I love to see a beautiful animal that reflects it's functionality. The functionality of the animal (whether that be in milking ability, birthing ability, or the ability to hold up over a long lifetime) is always my first priority. I am striving to produce animals that display and reproduce these traits. In more specific terms related to performance programs, my first focus is on breeding for rump width, rear udder height, arch, foreudder, and heavy milk production without forgoing other important traits for longevity like shoulders, feet, legs, and back (and the rest of the scorecard!). I do not place a priority on show wins, but I enjoy displaying those animals I have bred or own. I am breeding for what I love!

Where do we see ourselves in 5 year? 

In 5 years, I hope to have expanded the herd to a moderate size (20-30). I hope to hit some markers in linear appraisal- a 40 in rump width and maybe a 40/40/40 udder! I would like all of my mature herd to be producing over 1000+lbs a lactation. ​​​

What are you getting when you purchase a goat from us?

I would always love to talk goats. Don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have or if you would like help starting into performance programs. I don't have as much experience as others, but I may have a more severe obsession! I would love a purchase to be an ongoing relationship.​
