Barred Rocks are a beautiful heritage chicken breed that lay brown eggs. They are dual purpose laying about 250 eggs per year and weighing 7.5 lbs for hens and 9.5 lbs for roosters on average. They keep laying even through the winter and are the friendliest, most curious birds! We will probably never be without these perfect backyard chickens.
